For those cautious fingernails

& the deep that torments them

    grow crazy in the hair & then

touch the naked that surrounds it--

   perhaps it is under the skirts

       a frenzied probe

& how the silhouette of a body

is pressed into a photograph

of uncharted landscapes, we won't wander

unless the word "traverse" or "dance" or...

fabulous the pirouetted lips twist

& we are, for a moment,

reminded of lipstick

      or Paris.
